Our Programs

NBCEA offers TVET CDACC-validated theological programs, delivered entirely online via Zoom and Google Meet. Students across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and the wider Africa East Field can study from wherever they are — no relocation required.

Christian Theology Level 6

Duration: 2 years (online)

Entry Requirements

  • Completion of the Diploma in Chaplaincy or an equivalent theological qualification
  • Minimum of two years of active ministry experience
  • Letter of endorsement from a district superintendent or equivalent church authority
  • Satisfactory academic record demonstrating readiness for advanced theological study

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D+ or equivalent

  • Evidence of Christian commitment and a sense of calling to ministry
  • Satisfactory performance in the NBCEA entrance interview

Flexible & Extension Programs

Through the Africa Nazarene School of Extension (ANSE), NBCEA offers additional flexible study options for working ministers, church leaders, and lay workers across the Africa East Field. ANSE programs are designed for those who wish to pursue formal theological training while continuing to serve their local congregations.

ANSE students benefit from the same TVET CDACC-validated curriculum as all NBCEA students, delivered through a combination of self-study materials, online sessions, and mentorship from NBCEA-trained facilitators based in local districts. Because all instruction is online, geography and life circumstances are no barrier to quality theological formation.

Ministry Pathways

An NBCEA qualification opens doors to a wide range of ministry and service roles across the Africa East Field and beyond.

Ordained Minister

Serve as a fully ordained pastor within the Church of the Nazarene, leading a local congregation in worship, discipleship, and community engagement.

Church Administrator

Manage the operational, financial, and organisational functions of a local church or district office, supporting effective ministry delivery.

Chaplain

Provide spiritual care and pastoral support in hospitals, schools, prisons, the military, or other institutional settings across East Africa.

Community Outreach Coordinator

Lead holistic ministry initiatives addressing social needs — including education, health, and poverty alleviation — in partnership with local churches.

Bible Teacher or Lecturer

Teach Scripture and theology in Bible colleges, secondary schools, or church-based training programmes, forming the next generation of ministers.

Cross-Cultural Missionary

Engage in evangelism and church planting across cultural and national boundaries within the Africa East Field and beyond.
